The first-year review meeting of the CogX project took place here at DFKI (Saarbrücken, Germany) on Thursday October 29 2009, and Friday the 30th. To present various aspects of the integrated architectures we developed during the first period, we created several movies to illustrate autonomous exploration (the Dora the Explorer scenario – interactive spatial exploration) and interaction about a local visual scene (the George scenario – socially guided learning). All the movies are provided in Apple Quicktime (m4v) format.
- “Dora the Explorer: Autonomous exploration and situated feedback” [02’31/69.4MB] Illustration of how a robot autonomously explores an unknown indoor environment, using motivation and planning mechanisms to select different hypotheses to explore next.
- “Talking to George” [02’48/60.9MB] Illustration of dialogue for socially guided learning, including an explanation of the robot’s belief models get dynamically updated.
- “Talking Beliefs: Updating belief models through human-robot interaction” [01:56/51MB] More details on the dynamics of the robot’s belief models.
- “Talking Intonation: Varying intonation in how the robot talks with a human” [02:14/21.5MB] Illustrations of how dialogue- and content planning interact with belief models to dynamically control the intonation of an utterance.
